Britney Spears, the iconic pop sensation, is set to release her memoir, "The Woman in Me," on October 24. In this deeply personal account, the 41-year-old artist opens up about a secret she's carried for two decades.

In her upcoming memoir, Spears discloses that during her relationship with Justin Timberlake, she became pregnant with his child but ultimately chose to have an abortion. It's a revelation that has shocked the world.

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Spears writes of the pregnancy in the book. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

A representative for Justin Timberlake has not yet responded to this revelation.

Spears further reflects in her memoir: "If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.” She goes on to describe the abortion as "one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life."

After her split from Justin Timberlake in 2002, Britney Spears went on to become a mother, welcoming two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with her second husband, Kevin Federline.

This long-anticipated memoir is scheduled for release on October 24 through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. It comes nearly two years after Spears was freed from her court-ordered conservatorship, which had been in place for 13 years. The conservatorship was terminated in November 2021 following Spears' heartfelt public testimony in court in June 2021.

The memoir promises to unveil "for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history." According to a press release from Gallery Books, the memoir aims to illuminate the enduring power of music and love, underlining the importance of a woman sharing her own story on her own terms. Britney Spears' memoir is bound to be a captivating and powerful read
